TGIF! This week has been long enough, thank you!
Last night, I went through the rather long list of people I was following on Twitter and "unfollowed" some of them. It was just one of those days when I couldn't read everything I wanted to read (and my ribs still hurt!). Then, after unfollowing, I realized I might have unfollowed some of you - my readers, some of the best people in my world! If I did that, I will blame it on the beer and Pepperidge Farm Goldfish I ate for dinner (that's another story). So please e-mail me and let me know. I'll follow again "in the light of day." I don't want to miss your news, joy, announcements, and must-haves.
Twitter continues to interest me - from many standpoints. From a sociological perspective, it's an interesting community, marketplace, and alternative universe. There are even cliques, which may simply be an indicator that many tweetie birds are very young or high school never ends. From a beauty lover's perspective, it's a great way to find out about new products, special offers, contests, and "what's happening." I really enjoy it. If I didn't have to go to my "real universe" every day to work, I could stay home with the kitties, read, and write.
Don't forget that our Armani Beauty Maestro Mascara Giveaway Contest ends tomorrow night. I have more great contests to announce - the next one later today. Next week, we have a dynamite flat iron giveaway coming up, along with more new makeup. My thanks to everyone who enters!
You know The Friday Forum by now. The forum is devoted to what you have to say about anything related to beauty - or anything else you want/need to talk about. Let's chat! Are you using a fabulous product and want to sing its praises? Tell us about it! Did you find a beauty product disappointing? Tell us why! Do you have questions others might be able to answer? We can help! Want to talk about skin care? I'm game! Just use the comments. We have busy weekends and slow ones on the forum. Either way, I always enjoy hearing from you.
As usual, I will share beauty bits with you over the weekend. I'll put them in the comments, so check for free shipping offers and other treats from beauty companies.
I do have a question for you. Do you like the Weekend Roundups Kari at Fabulous Over Forty and I have been publishing? Do you get the chance to go off and read the beauty blogs we enjoyed during the week? We want to make the roundup a permanent feature, and I would love to have your feedback.
The microphone is yours!

Right after I put up this post, I caught Charlie sneaking in from the screened-in porch with a live mouse in his mouth. I escorted them back to the porch, at which point, Charlie dropped his prize.
I tried to explain to him that giveaway prizes are different from live mice. I had been writing about beauty prizes. I appreciated the offering, but no thanks.
Wow...I never realized how hard it is to comment on blogs! I tried to comment on two beauty blogger sites this week, and none of my comments "took." I tried my Google ID or name. Then preview. Nothing! Does that happen to you here?
Philosophy.com has a sale going. 40% off select products. Plus you can enter to win a contest. Worth a visit!
Just in case you are wondering, "Mouse Breath" went back to the porch later, but didn't come back inside with a mouse. I hope the mouse was OK.
Ugh! Our cats once presented us with just a mouse head! We lived near some farms, and the field mice would look for a nice warm place to live in the winter.
One product that I am loving right now is Benefit Sugarbomb. It gives me just enough glow without glitter. I do have to be careful about placement, or it settles into my pores. Is there a good trick to applying these shimmer products? I am having a lot of trouble with minimizing my pores, and I never had trouble with that. Is this a problem with other women in their 40s?
Have a great weekend.
I love Sugarbomb too, Kathy! It's the prettiest color! Interesting about the shimmer because it's not real shimmery on me.
Try using a good makeup primer under it or under your foundation. The primer fills in the pores so your makeup won't.
Lately, I have found that creams with peptides do a good job minimizing pores. They have a tightening effect on the skin. Two good ones are from small companies: Striking Skin Care and MEG 21. The new Kinerase Restructure Firming Cream is good too. I have the Restructure Firming Eye Cream on right now.
There is a good write-up on pores at DERMAdoctor: http://www.dermadoctor.com/article_Blackheads-Enlarged-Pores_90.html
Try the primer first. :)
You too - have a great weekend!

Thanks so much for the info on pores. I am now almost obsessed with how they look. The Sugarbomb isn't that shimmery on me, but it tends to sink into my pores closer to my nose - not an attractive look! I love the color and the finish though.
I forgot to answer your question about the weekend roundup - I like it personally. It's a good way to check out other reviews and opinions.
Thanks!
Hey thanks, Kathy! We are enjoying it, so I'm pleased to get the feedback! Four of us have joined up to participate - so far - and we hope for more. For the last few weeks, Kari at Fabulous Over Forty and I have both published it.
A long time ago (when I had combo skin in the summer), I was whining to a Chanel friend about the "zones" of my skin. She suggested I use a different products (moisturizer, masks, etc.) near my nose and on my chin than elsewhere on my face.
As for Sugarbomb, are you applying it close to your nose? Hold two fingers vertically up against the side of your nose. Don't apply your blusher over the skin those fingers cover. Bet that will help!
