Chantecaille Pure Rosewater

Chantecaille's Aromacologie products are inspired by the rare beauty and perfection of nature and enhanced by the miracles of modern science. They are formulated with high concentrations of natural ingredients and incorporate elements and techniques from aromatherapy, European flower pharmacology, Chinese medicine, and biotechnology - the best of ancient wisdom and current innovation.

Chantecaille's flower-based products have healing, anti-aging, soothing, anti-inflammatory, and moisturizing properties. There are currently four flower waters available, and I have three of them! When a few of them were introduced, Barney's in New York was the only place that had them in stock. I wanted them so badly, I called Barney's and placed a phone order. The UPS delivery the day they came was memorable!

Pure Rosewater ($56), the first that was introduced and the most popular, is a spray that hydrates, purifies, calms, and uplifts. Rosewater is known to combat aging and soothe irritated skin. What's a hoot is that Chantecaille says it also counteracts the fatiguing effects of cell phones and computers by restoring the integrity of your electromagnetic field. Whew! I don't know about that benefit, but I can testify to the more traditional ones.

Pure Rosewater is unique because it contains 100% of the Rose de Mai, including the petals and all of its essential oils. This antique rose is named for the month of May when it blooms. It's harvested by hand at dawn on the hills of Provence. The petals are distilled in the purest artesian well water to produce a healing, moisturizing, and uplifting spray. In addition to being antibacterial and loaded with vitamin C, it has enlivening aromatherapeutic properties. This supercharged rosewater is actually the basis of all Chantecaille skin care products.

I use Pure Rosewater in many ways. It's a great way to set your makeup. Just hold it 6-8 inches away from your face and spray. I actually spray it all over my upper body just for the delicious fragrance. You can use it as a linen spray, to enhance your moisturizer, or as a post-shower luxury. I'm sure there are other uses; these are just my favorites.

For those on the go, Chantecaille sells a Pure Rosewater Trio ($50) in airline-approve sizes. What a nice way to refresh on a long flight!

This flower water is 99% botanical. Chantecaille products never contain animal ingredients, synthetic colors, sulfites, phthalates, petrochemicals, or synthetic fragrances. They are never tested on animals, and they are non-comedogenic. Make sure to store Pure Rosewater away from heat and light.

You can find the Chantecaille flower waters - Pure Rosewater, Orange Blossom Water of Morocco, French Peppermint Water, and Wild Blackberry Bush Water - at the Chantecaille Web site, Neiman Marcus, and at stores on this list.

i am in love with facial mists now. I have been using unscented Avene mineral water mist and orange blossom scented trial size mist from Kerstin Florian. I love both! I use them at night after I cleanse my face and in the morning after i apply my makeup. I bet i will be using mists even more often when hot weather comes around.

I have the Avene one and love it too! The orange blossom one you got sounds lovely. I'd love to have a trial size I could keep in my desk at work! A little lunchtime spritz would be so refreshing.

So I guess I should break down and buy the travel-sized trio from Chantecaille!
