This weekend, I'm headed for my undergraduate college reunion. So is Lexi (you saw her get her Armani makeover last week), but she went to Georgetown University. There's a significant age difference between us, but even Lexi is already thinking about what she's going to wear and how she's going to look. She went to get her tan "evened out" at a spray tan salon last night. No funny tan lines for Lexi! I've done nothing to prepare - yet.
Why are college reunions so stressful? Aren't they supposed to be all about fun and reconnecting? Instead, I am obsessing about what to wear and how I'll look compared to my fellow graduates (one had a face lift and looks like she never left college - darn good surgeon). One thing I know for sure. My look will be a bit more classic than my now-embarrassing senior class photo in which I was wearing bell bottoms! Quite the thing at the time. Now they look like a silly relic.
Any advice? Have you been to a reunion lately?

This is the first one I have planned to attend! Maybe when you get older, you'll get a bit nostalgic. I did. :)
i hope you have fun! i apparently forgot about my 10 yrs high school reunion. but it is all ok, i would not wanna go for such stress.
Thank you, Anna! I have never gone to a high school reunion and feel bad about it. Apparently at the last one, everyone asked my cousin why I wasn't there. Maybe someday.
I'venever been to one of my college reunions because it was SUCH a big place and I've done such a lousy job of staying in touch with classmates. I have, however, been to a couple of high school class reunions since moving back to my home town, and all I can say is less is more. It's good to look like you aren't trying too hard. Being relaxed and happy is better than a face lift!
Hi, Liz!
LOL since the chance of my having a face lift is zero. I'll live with my wrinkles. I may end up with bionic knees, though.
I am heading to Hood College for my 10 year reunion this evening. I am not worried about what I look like (thank you Arbonne!) but definitely want to out do my friend who is Ms. Mary Kay herself! I do worry about what to wear but know that I can do something simple and accessorize with some nice jewelry. Here's to tonight!
Have fun, Jaime! We will have to compare notes later.
Of course, at 10 years, I wouldn't have worried about my appearance. :)
Don't worry, take it easy! I had the same experience two years ago with foreign students: we had not met for 30 years and just kept in touch wth the odd letter once or twice a year...Just like Liz I played it very, very simple (clothes, make-up..)we were so happy to meet that we were all radiant and when I came back home, my son said I looked younger!.. I just recommend a mask to look relaxed! Forget about the face lift (look at your fellow graduate's hands and you'll see her age there!)So, don't worry, I am sure you will have a lovely time!I wish you a great week-end:-)
Thank you, Clarisse! You have all been confidence boosters!
