Last night, as I was browsing Facebook, I spotted Le Métier de Beauté's Eagles Envy Kaleidoscope Eye Kit ($95), a Saks Fifth Avenue exclusive. There is a launch party this evening, September 19, at the Saks in Bala Cynwyd.
I can't attend that, but I could call to order it. I tried. I learned that direct dialing the extension does not reach voice mail after store hours. So I'll be calling Tanya Smith to reserve mine at (610) 667-1550, extension 368. How could I miss out on something that's green, silver, and gorgeous?
Will I be competing with all of you to reach Tanya while stock is still available?

I won't be competing with you because $95 is too too much for me. But I would if it could!
Bala Cynwyd! That's where Patrick Swayze's character was from in To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar. Oh, how I loved that movie in middle school!
Cg, this is what makes you God-like in my eyes! Just ordered the eye kit; hope and pray I get it. Thanks for the heads-up!
Nemo,
How did you do it? I called at 10:00, was told that Tanya wouldn't be in until 11:45 or so, and I was asked to call back. I was fairly insistent I wanted to buy it now (crazy work day), so a woman reluctantly took my order. You would think giving them my money shouldn't be so hard! She took all my info, and at the end said she would give it to Tanya. So I have no idea whether I will get this Kaleidoscope.
Hi Jane!
Memories...Made the song run though my mind.
Cg, I called the number, unsure if the store would be opened bc I did not know where it was; got the usual message, was about to hang up bc the store was not open, then proceeded to plunge ahead with the extension number you provided just for kicks; a woman answered, said the store was not open, but took my order happily. I asked her to enclose a business card bc she is a keeper. Hope we both get our orders.
I just got off the phone and was told that they still had some in stock. I wasn't a huge fan of the Nouvelle Vague one so I had passed on that, but this! This is right up my alley. Green is my need-everything color. The lovely woman told me that it would be shipped out today!
Do you think the green shade will be similar to the one in penelope?
Hi Leigh,
When I finally got ahold of Tanya, she was delightful. She said they were selling at a brisk pace and she checked her book to ensure that the woman with whom I spoke had actually put me on the list. She said it was a good thing I called to validate because she expects to sell out.
I agree. Those greens look fabulous!
Hi Anonymous,
I won't know until I have it in my hands. Photos have been deceiving in the past. They give me a pretty good idea, but the palettes are often far prettier then they look in the LMdB photos.
OMG this kaleidoscopic looks amazing! Can't wait to see swatches : )
Thank you for posting the contact information!! I saw the post on LMDB facebook page about it but didn't know how I could order it.... Just called Tanya and ordered mine :) I just couldn't pass up the green
This looks GORGEOUS for all of the spruce greens and oxbloods of this fall's fashions. Lucky ladies!
I agree most with mamavalveeta03's comment. She hit the spot when describing this fall's fashion colors. The colors in this Kaleidoscope look very pretty in the picture. I'd wear the two inner colors together in a heartbeat! I would love to own a kaleidoscope but just can't pay that price! This one especially so because of the colors it holds and the silver shiny finish of the K-scope itself! Simply gorgeous and very classy.
I used to live in Bala Cynwyd. It's is not too far from me now. I actually got one of the last Guerlain Cruel Gardenia from Saks in Bala Cynwyd. But, I'm not going to get this kaleidoscope. Silver doesn't look right on my skin tone. I have a green shade in Penelope. It's probably a different shade. Depending on the tone and lighting, green can be tough for me to pull off too.
Go Wendy!! Only the packaging is silver!!! This is green etc. not silver:)) This will be love!
Hi, kellinicole86!
I'm afraid that by the time I swatch it, it will be sold out.
Great, Yin! Glad you got one!
They do, MamaVal, I will publish swatches when it arrives.
Hi Ellen,
I never know with press photos. I usually find the actual Kaleidoscopes much prettier. :)
Wow, Wendy! Cool.
I never know from press photos. Stay tuned.
Buggsiebee, I think you are right.
I just called in and reached Tanya directly. She's so sweet! They still have some in stock, so I couldn't help but order one. :)
I can't wait to get this, I'm seriously, seriously drooling. Thanks so much for sharing!
Hi Melissa!
Fab! Isn't she a doll?
I called Saks at 10:20 the morning of the launch but Tanya wasn't in yet and so a Noelle took my name and number and assured me that I will have one. She even told me I was the fourth person to call. She also assured me that Tanya will call me back the next day at the latest to get my shipping and charging info. Well, nobody called yesterday and I called first thing this morning. I was informed by Tanya that all the kaleidoscopes are already spoken for and she will send me one on the next batch of shipments. I told her about Noelle and what happened. In fact I called 3 times on the 20th because I was afraid something like this would happen but the last person I talked to was already annoyed with me. I was explaining that to Tanya and with an irritated/annoyed voice (that's what it seems to me) she told me that she will just bump #39's order so I can get mine. In principle, I have priority over 39. I told her that but she said "Emilie you are going to get yours so that's all that matters". Her exact words. I am so sorry for venting but I've never been treated like that from anybody related to LMdB. I knew it was going to sell out so I called as soon as I could. I knew Saks has a reputation but I've never had this experience with Golden Gate Girl and Shades of Short Hills. It's like she was trying to shut me up. It's very upsetting. I expected more from Le Metier. I'm sorry for the long post.
Hi Emilie,
I was NOT impressed with the woman - a sales associate - who took my order. She was not a LMdB rep. She was an SA. I told Tanya. Tanya herself is beyond sweet. I think she was embarrassed by what happened there. Had I had time, I could have given her a heads up that the phone would start ringing at 10:00.
The sad fact is that some sales associates aren't good. Some are. Some good ones can treat some customers well and others not so well. What happened that day before Tanya got there was a shame. The store manager should be made aware.
Hello Ladies!!!! I want to let you all know that I have been working with Le Metier for 5 months and I love love love the line and especially all of our clients. You are truly delightful to work with and your appreciation for this line shows!!! The second that Eagles Envy was posted it was sold out! Those of you that have been following this line know that it happens every time!!! The day that the kaleidoscope released was the same day as our launch party at Saks in Bala Cynwyd. I had over 100 guests and about 100 phone calls. My co workers took so many calls for me and I apologize greatly for not being able to speak to all of you. Emilie, I apologize if you feel that you were mistreated but I can assure you that I was not aggravated with you in anyway. I will admit that the calls on top of the event AND a masterclass with 6 of our clients was a bit overwhelming!! On top of all that, my register had a malfunction. Everyone should receive their orders shortly. I am working on having more made for anyone that missed this chance. I am a huge Eagles fan and the smokey eye....EAGLES ENVY! I hope all of you have a wonderful night, sleep tight. xo
Sincerely,
Tanya
