Coming Attraction: Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Color

Chanel's Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Color will arrive soon (shipping August 6) in a formula that takes color to the extreme. The new lipsticks represent the next generation of this classic lipstick. My photo above was taken under the same adverse in-store conditions as my Chanel Holiday 2012 photo, but I knew you'd want to see what's coming.

Click with Color
An alluring statement of elegance, the iconic lipstick Rouge Allure dresses lips with unmistakable attitude. A true symbol of authentic luxury, its sleek signature black column opens with a click, now to reveal a dramatic new formulation for color that's radically intense.

The stunning color of Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Color is the result of a concentration of ultra-thin pigments specially designed to magnify shade intensity. Lighter hues have a "unique presence," revealing nuances and depth. Darker tones heighten the drama, with audacity and pure elegance for an ultra-feminine effect.

Color brilliance is only part of the story of Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Color. Special hydrating agents and antioxidants, rich in green tea extract and sappan wood (East Indian redwood) will leave lips supple and protected for lasting comfort, while tea butter will ensure that your color endures for ultimate wear.

Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Color will be available in a range of 16 intense shades, from a delicate beige to black-red.

Here are the shades - if you can see anything from this photo of a photo. I didn't want to brighten it because I might have dulled the colors. Just click on this photo to enlarge it. I see four I'm going to have to have. Naturally, three of them are in the Pinks column on the left.

Are you a Chanel lipstick lover? Excited?

Are we finally going to move away from all gloss, all the time? And how will women in my age bracket deal with such an intense color on the lips? I'm very interested to see how this will pan out.

Cg, what would we do without you? Love them. I am circling the ones I want and mailing it to my SA. Just as I did with the Holiday. You have to have something to look forward to, don't you?

Thanks for scoping this out for us and then reporting so quickly! Curious to see the lighter pinks, the pink coral and the pink beige. I really love Chanel lipsticks.

To deal with too much pigment on the lips, dab the color on and "smoosh" lips together. Also, you can use a tissue afterwards to blot your lips. I have full lips that are on the dry side and this is how I deal with a bit too much product or pigment on my lips.

Anyway, I can't wait for these. I love RA's and I'll probably walk away with at least half of them. Let me at them now!

Catching up after packing up mailings for tomorrow.

Poppy, I suspect many of these will be too dark for us. We'll see, right?

Thanks, Nemo! Love that attitude - get right on the list. :)

Hey there, Tatiana,

Easy to report when you've got the materials in front of you. :) I took photos of the pages with all the info too. :)

Evelyn, you'll be joining me in the pink column, huh? Or as they say in Canada, eh?

Hi Shontay!

I use the tissue method.

Half of them? We'll be coming to you for swatches of the dark ones. :)

Oh, I'll be in the pink, yo (representing Brooklyn here lol). I'm not a beige or coral person although MUA keep trying to make me wear them. Just let me buy some pinks and reds and I will be very happy (as if I need more, but you can't have too many).

CG you are on top of upcoming releases! At least 3 notifications in the last 24 hrs - you go girl! I see several in the pink & red columns that I'm interested in seeing IRL. I have to say that I am really liking the new 'advanced' & 'improved' lipsticks that are lighter in texture, include good for you ingredients & more color. It makes it easier to stay looking 'pulled together'!

It will be very interesting to see the new collection of colors. Rouge Allure has always been one of my favorite formulas, but the colors were beginning to look rather dated. It was time for a face lift :-)

Hi Poppy,

I'm 68 so I understand your concern about anything too matte or too dark. Truth be told, I'm a gloss/ balm kind of gal, but there are times when nothing beats the chic elegance of a good lipstick. Because lips thin as we age, dark or intense colors can be problematic. Here's how I handle it: I apply an even coat of lipstick with a brush, blot my lips, then apply just a bit of coordinating gloss that is a shade or so lighter. The lipstick gives me the deeper, more fashion forward color, blotting takes the edge off of it and softens it a bit, and applying a touch of gloss gives me the appearance of fullness. It's win-win :-) I just have to be careful that the colors I choose don't emphasize the inevitable yellowing of the teeth that is the result of gradual enamel erosion. Also, I take my color cue from my natural lip color which is rose. I don't go much more than a shade or two darker.

I think we're definitely seeing a renaissance in lipstick and a step away from the super shiny, vinyl look of glosses. Glosses will always have their place, but the new breed of lipstick offers a satin matte finish that is sophisticated and polished. I think there is a place for both in every woman's makeup stash.

Do you ever wear the "shine" lipstick formulas? It's a good way to get used to deeper or more intense colors while still having the lightness of a gloss.

Lov2read, I've got another tomorrow - a fragrance coming attraction that has my heart racing. :)

Plus, I have partial news on a brand new Chanel fragrance - not a flanker. It is REALLY hush hush, but I'll find a way. :)

Eileen, I'll be very curious to see these. If they are really as hydrating as Chanel boasts, I may like them, despite the intense color. I have to have some life, if not shine, though.

Hi Charlestongirl,

Now you've piqued my curiosity. I don't know anything about a completely new fragrance, but I have been reading about the Coco Noir that is supposedly going to be released in a sophisticated all black version of the No 5 classic bottle. I'm trying to imagine what it will smell like. The Coco and Coco Mademoiselle were duds on me so I don't have high hopes for the scent itself, but I'd probably be tempted to buy Coco Noir just for the bottle! LOL With all the beautiful and innovative products coming out in the next few months, you're certainly going to be one very busy blogger lady :-)
