Chantecaille Wishes You a Happy World Oceans Day!

Chantecaille is celebrating World Oceans Day with an amazing, limited-edition offer. You can purchase (at the company's Web site) both the Save the Sharks Palette and the Coral Reefs Palette for $120 (a savings of $32). Plus, Chantecaille will donate five percent of the sales to the BLOOM Association and the Marine Conservation Institute.
On World Oceans Day, people around the planet celebrate and honor the body of water that links us all, for what the oceans provide humans and what they represent. You can be a part of this growing global celebration - a tribute really - and indulge your love of beauty with one purchase of extraordinary makeup.

Each of the two palettes provides three eye shades and one cheek shade. I have them (of course) and love them. You can see swatches of Save the Sharks here and the Coral Reefs Palette here.

Passionately committed to saving our sharks, the BLOOM Association has successfully orchestrated a top-level ban on all Hong Kong Luxury Hotels from serving shark fin soup. They need to expand their efforts worldwide. The way shark fins are "harvested" is one of the cruelest things I've ever read.

With the Coral Reefs Palette, Chantecaille has continued its tradition of offering must-have makeup with an environmental benefit. Chantecaille has proudly joined the Marine Conservation Institute in their efforts to protect 10% of the world’s oceans by 2020. The oceans cover 71% of the earth, providing 80% of our oxygen and food for 3.5 billion people; yet less than one half of one percent of our oceans are protected. The health of the ocean is vital, and coral reefs are the alert system. Today three quarter’s of the world’s coral reefs are at risk due to over-fishing, pollution, and global warming. Maintaining 10% of the ocean’s ecosystems as “no-take marine protected areas” is the best chance for coral’s survival.

For this promotion, if you spend $100 at Chantecaille, you will also receive a free Lychee Luminous Gloss, through June 10 or while supplies last. You can see Lychee here.

There is no question that the fate of the oceans is inextricably linked with the fate of the earth and life. If you didn't purchase these gorgeous palettes when they were introduced - or you need back-ups - this is a great time to buy and show Chantecaille that you care too.

Thank you for sharing - I purchased this. I totally agree about the shark "finning" - it's cruel but then we are sadly a cruel world when it comes to our earth and our animals. I'm glad Chantecaille is so charitable and cruelty free as well.

Me too, Sarita! I'm glad you supported the cause.

The website only ships to the states, so I'll have to find another way to buy these - the designs are adorable! As for finning, it's very disappointing that my city (Toronto) is still lawfully selling and trading shark fins. The ban was overturned last year, and I haven't heard any news since. For such a big city, we're setting a pretty bad example.

hi!!! i'm trying to reproduce "the shark pallette" look worn by olivia chantecaille. it states she's wearing rose delice lip chic with framboise gloss. i already have chanel's pygmalion rouge coco shine and eden gloss from summer collection. are they similar? i was hoping to use the chanel colors but wondered if you knew they'd coordinate or clash?! i thought they were all described as raspberry. thanky very much!!!xxxxxx

Hi, strange they only ship to US as on the contact form they have Canada and all provinces listed as well as zip/postal code, then there is one listing for all other simply international. I sent a message asking if they would ship if customer paid for the cost? Seems odd they would have it set up so easily accessible for canadian addresses. Is it their policy not to ship outside the US at all times or does it have to do with promotions?I wouls so love to be able to take advantage of this as well as support a worthy cause. The only item I have had was shadow and Rose which was lovely, do miss it.
CG, I hope you can come to a decision that is best for you regarding the future of your blog. I have to say that over the last year or more since I discovered it, I almost always read it daily and if not, catch up, look forward to it. I have learned so much about beautiful makeup, more than I have known altogether throughout my interest in things beautiful. I share in the excitement of the other readers and thoroughly feel part of this group in a special way that ids different from the more commercialized style of blogs. PS: I also happen to know you have a kind heart!

Unrelated topic, I am wondering if anyone can suggest eye primers that may work well with cream shadows in particular. I havent found one out of the few I do have and I am starting to wear creams having difficulty with fading off or getting all over the place as day goes on. I know a lot of people wear them so hoping for suggestions, my eyelids are normal skin type. Thanks Kathy

....primers...i've never worn one. a company to look at is jane iredale. i've been wearing their loose mineral powder, amazing base. my makeup stays on well over 10 hours. i just wish i could find lip products that would stay on. i don't work for jane but, i'd suggest requesting samples. you never know if you don't try it...they do sell a primer but, i just use the powder...i brush the powder on my lids and chanel's new stylo "sticks" stay on till i take it off. great customer service too! i hope this helps...xxxx.

I don't know, Wendy. The problem with predicting such things is that everyone's lip pigmentation is different. Why not break down and buy the Chantecaille products. :) Big grin.

Edward Bess's eye primer is the best I've ever used. When I don't use that, I use the Chantecaille concealer in the pot. Both work under cream shadows.
