Rouge Bunny Rouge When Birds are Singing... Long-Lasting Duo Eye Shadow

What taupe or neutral shadow lover could resist Rouge Bunny Rouge's When Birds are Singing... Long-Lasting Duo Eyeshadow in A Major - fis Minor ($41.87)? Not this neutral lover!

I had considered the duo with each Zuneta order I placed. Finally, with my last order, I could resist no longer. When it arrived, I wondered what took me so long. It's exquisite.

This powder eye shadow has a lightweight, creamy touch and extraordinary adherence. With its first application, I wondered how Rouge Bunny Rouge made the powder so creamy. It resembles a cream-powder hybrid, with its beautiful texture.

The formula creates lively, dynamic iridescence and a second-skin effect as it melts into the eyelids, looking like it belongs there. It stays perfectly placed and looks freshly applied all day, without losing a bit of its luster. One of the ingredients, orange-derived flavonoid, is said to improve blood microcirculation, enhance luminosity, and serve as a free radical scavenger. That's an extra-added benefit when a shadow color is so pretty. I would purchase When Birds Are Singing... even without the skin-care benefits.

Once applied, this eye shadow comes to life, dancing with multi-toned pearls and shimmer, resembling the plumage that served as the inspiration for When Birds are Singing...

The firefly festival is eagerly awaited all year in the Enchanted Garden. For then on this very special day, the best voices of the bird world feed on these tiny fireworks that embellish their voices and then gather to perform a single concert together.

Their jubilant musical notes are inscribed in a syrup of figs and milk and preserved in tiny pots to be enjoyed the year round. Like this golden froth of musical syrup, "When Birds are Singing..." eye shadows are a time-defying exotic enigma. This is plumage to adorn you in shades as deliciously mellow as soft silence that flows, or as brilliantly potent as jeweled notes. So addictive are these morsels that you'll be causing your own kaleidoscopic ripples every time you wear them.

While birds have to dine, I'm not sure the story of When Birds are Singing... is one of my favorite Rouge Bunny Rouge tales. The fireflies deserve a life as rich as the other creatures in the Enchanted Garden!

I had no trouble selecting my duo. There were only two available. A Major - fis Minor (#038) is described at Zuneta as the palest golden wheat, paired with a delicately frosted muted mauve-brown, with a subtle gold accent. The other duo, C Major is described as iridescent, pale golden-toned mint paired with a light, iridescent lilac. There was no question which one would give me more wear - or be less theatrical.

When A Major arrived, my first thought was that it was even prettier than it looked online - the shades cooler and more exciting. When I applied the shades to my arm and eyelids, I knew I had a keeper.

I took my swatch photos outdoors in blazing sunlight. I applied each shadow with a sponge-tipped applicator, and I decided to mix them together to show you the blended shade too. My arm shows the golden wheat shade at top, the "mauve-brown" below (I would call it taupe), and the two shades blended together equally at the bottom. I found I had three shadows, not two - all of them gorgeous.

I applied the shades heavily (and dry) with a sponge-tipped applicator. They do shimmer, although the sunlight exacerbates the shine, particularly in the photo above right. The golden wheat shade applies like a dream, unlike some recent, pricey light shadows that are crumbly and fail to adhere. I adore it. The taupe brown? The right tone for my coloring! Mixed together? Sheer perfection!

I will get so much wear from this duo, I want more! I'm not sure I need C Major, but I know we can expect more duo selections from Rouge Bunny Rouge. Now I need to try a few of the singles in When Birds are Singing... Angelic Cockatiels and Unforgettable Oriole look lovely. Then there's Vicacious Maquari. This has become an addiction!

I love the Product Application Guide videos at Zuneta. Make sure to watch the guide for When Birds are Singing... You'll learn more about these magnetic eye shadows. You can apply them with a damp brush for greater intensity, making them so versatile, you can use them for day wear, night looks, and everything in between.

I learned from Rouge Bunny Rouge that these duos are part of a Spring-Summer 2011 Collection, Isola Bella. The shade shown on the model here is C Major. Throughout this year, Rouge Bunny Rouge plans to unveil four sophisticated looks encompassed under the theme "Portraits of Grace."

All the looks are vignettes of finesse and elegance, diverse kinds of graceful feminine beauty. The essence of luxuriousness is paired with a touch of enigma and a dash of old-fashioned allure. Nostalgic hues will shine in a new splendor and deliver an up-to-date chic expressed by different kinds of polished and pure naturals in eye shadows and expressive lips."

Isola Bella evokes the ease of respite during a mid-summer day in a scenic nook of an island. Tropical colors are inspired by its exotic vegetation and flora; fluttering shades of green and grey around the eyes, terracotta for an overall glow, and the full bloom of rose on the lips, make Isola Bella a glistening and very feminine look. Summer reflections are captured in the makeup, resulting in a dreamy but vivid look.

I'm going off to plot my next Zuneta order. To get free international shipping, one must spend over £65. It's not hard!

Isn't it interesting, PerilouslyPale and Reene? There was something about this duo that didn't look exciting online. Now I know it is!

Those swatches look gorgeous, although I was never really tempted by this duo! I think you would really like the eyeshadow in the colour Delicate Hummingbird as well, it's a beautiful smoky, silvery purple. I have the Bejewelled Skylark and one of the mattes on my wishlist at the moment. x

Hi Klara,

Violets are not my favorites, but there are a few single shades I'm going to have to have! This addiction is consuming me - and my wallet.

I saw swatches of Delicate Hummingbird online. Lovely shade - for someone else. :)

I really, really need to get on the ball and try out some RBR. I've been reading about it everywhere, I just haven't felt like ordering...I do much better when I can go in and see the colors/feel the textures myself. But you've got me almost convinced...

Thanks for the great review!
