Chanel Le Volume de Chanel Mascara

Chanel's Le Volume de Chanel Mascara ($30) is available in very limited quantities for a short time until November 26 when it launches officially. If you want one, the Chanel team at Saks Fifth Avenue in Chevy Chase, Maryland, has 23 available. Call Georgia, Loyd, or Marie at (240) 497-5363. You can reach Georgia via e-mail at Georgia_Marmaras@s5a.com. After this initial preview allotment has sold out, Le Volume de Chanel will not be available until Black Friday.

Elegance is elevated to the extreme with the new Le Volume de Chanel Mascara, a high-precision mascara that provides instant volume and intense color. In  a single stroke, its innovative formula expands and plumps lashes to their fullest for a bold, yet elegant statement.

This new mascara is formulated with a combination of natural waxes to increase volume. The brush is innovative - Chanel's patented "Snowflakes" brush - offering unique long and short bristles that evenly coat and separate lashes while building volume.

Sounds good, but does it really do that? Yes! As a rule, I don't like volumizing mascaras (I wear lengthening ones). Volumizing mascaras usually glop my eyelashes together - no matter what the marketing says. Le Volume de Chanel Mascara doesn't glue my lashes together. It provides the color I like (black - Noir) from root to tip with one coat. It's a buildable mascara, so those who desire more coverage or volume can apply a second coat without clumping. I found I only needed one coat to create a smashing effect.

I'm wearing Le Volume de Chanel as I write, and I keep looking in a mirror, admiring my eyelashes. This one's a winner.

Saks Chevy Chase received 24 of them. I bought one of the just-unpacked beauties. I know many of you have been waiting for this latest mascara innovation from Chanel. Now's your chance - if you want one before Black Friday. Just call the phone number above. Naturally, there are other counters that received a limited supply for the preview. I just don't know where they are. I noticed Nordstrom shows it on their Web site, but it's not available. In fact, I got my photo from their site.

I was able to get a delux sample size of this mascara earlier in the week and have been wearing it for the past several days. It really is quite a nice mascara. Everything you said about it is absolutely true. And, one of the things I particularly like about it is that despite how long-wearing it is, it removes easily. Of course, I use Chanel's biphase eye makeup remover and that might have something to do with it, but I found the mascara wiped off cleanly and easily. I think I still prefer my Guerlain for day because I like a very natural and feathery look, but for evening I'll be picking up the new Chanel.

Hi Eileen!

My friends at Saks gave me four of those deluxe samples. Maybe I should do a giveaway tomorrow since I have the full-sized number.

It does remove easily - particularly attractive to me. I tested that and then forgot to mention it. Thanks!

Would you be able to take a snapshot of the ingredients list? Or maybe could I ask if there are parabens?

I picked a tube up this morning at Macys (mine only got 12 tubes, I happened to be at the right place at the right time). I found it a bit wet but w/ a bit of patience and my trusty Tweezerman lash comb my lashes look fantastic!!

According to Chanel.com they will have a limited quantity for sale starting on 11/12.

I wish I could justify spending $30 on a mascara....my girlfriend swears this is the best she has ever used.

I saw an advertisement for this on Chanel.com the other day. I was quite excited, then stumbled across your post today, which doubled my excitement about the mascara. I have loved Sublime de Chanel mascara, my favourite of the brand's mascara offerings, and was annoyed that the formula never launched here in the U.S. despite rumours that it would! I am glad there will be a new Chanel mascara in town!

Hope life is returning to normal following the hurricane. I am sorry that all of you East Coasters had to suffer through the ordeal. Best wishes!

Speaking of CHANEL, I bought the Holiday collection this week and used today--Saturday--for the first dry run. Love it! I did not buy the darker lipstick, but wanted it, so I braved college football traffic and a highway shooter (shoots at people on a major freeway in Michigan) who has shot at cars and hit one driver on the very highway I was taking, all so I could buy that lipstick. And buy it I did.

I adore my Armani Eyes to Kill mascara...nothing makes my puny lashes lashes longer, or thicker looking. BUT, you make this sound amazing! Can you compare the two, if possible?

Ah, Cg, you enabler, you! Just ordered 2 of them from Maria, who is wonderful btw, just as the door bell rang with my last NEST rollerball.

Hi Melanie,

I don't have enough light to get a photo, but there are no parabens in it (unless they are really well disguised in some long ingredient name). Looks like you're safe.

Hi Christa,

Good for you! I hate to wait, so I was glad to buy one of the 24 Saks received. :

Oh Sharon, I understand. My mascara normally costs less than $8.

Hi Walls,

A friend is sending me Sublime from France. I want to see if it's any different.

I think the Chanel buildup for this has been hysterical - probably the same marketing team that hired Brad Pitt. Nevertheless, it's a really nice mascara.

Walls, thanks. Missed that part of my message.

The Sublime mascara is also my favorite one, however, I was able to buy one of the new volumizing Chanel mascaras and it is equally fantastic. I second CG and Eileen - it produces fantastic lashes (even better in my opinion than Eyes to Kill).
Hope all is well.

Hi Nemo,

I agree. Marie is fabulous. Is it Maria or Marie? I have been calling her Marie.

A shooter? That's horrible. It brings back memories of the now-executed John Mohammed in my area. I hope they catch the evil person.

Hi Lovethescents,

I believe this is heresy, and I may be excommunicated from Armani, but I think it's either equal or better. It's not waterproof, though. Don't you prefer waterproof?

Charlestongirl said...

Hi Tanja!

Glad you like it too.

This sounds good. I don't like waterproof mascaras and I don't like ones that glue my already sparse lashes together. It makes it look like I have fewer lashes than I do. So it sounds like I need to try this one. But I'm sort of a under $20 mascara person. I'll wait til the end of the month and then try it. Who knows, I may be a convert. If it doesn't glue lashes together, doesn't flake and doesn't give me racoon eyes, who knows, I may end up a convert.

Thank you for the info, CG! I have one other question: would you know if it comes in any colours? I still miss the Extracils Violine or the Blue Moon from Fall 2003, back when they had real colours and not these blackened versions.

Melanie,

Right now, it's only black, but I suspect more shades, especially brown, will be along.

Of course I had to read this today - just ordered mascaras from Mordstrom to take advantage of their promotion...but I'm sure I'll tack this down as well.

Just saw "Argo" - I highly recommend it!

It's available now on neiman's online! Free shipping with NMFALL

Glad to see this post before the end of the day. I ordered Le Volume from Nordies today along with 2 YSLs for Mascara Madness. Thank you!

I was so tempted that I called a nearby Nordstrom. They had a limited amount in stock! Based on your glowing recommendations I ordered two and got a third mascara (Armani's Eyes to Kill) for free with today's promotion. I'm heading out tomorrow to pick them up.

My "no buy" lasted exactly 26 hours, which, frankly, is a new record. Honestly, how could I be expected to resist?

My dear Charlestongirl, your memory is impeccable. I *used* to prefer waterproof but have stopped using it because it`s always so difficult to remove.

Better than the Armani, you say?? Doubly curious now!!

Ordered from NM - so now I have 4 mascaras on the way!

I love the texture of the mascara but there is always far too much product on the brush. Without using a lash brush to seperate the lashes it's unusable. Is there something wrong with mine, as nobody else seems to face this problem?!?

Hi everyone,

I love the texture of the mascara but there is always far too much product on the brush. Without using a lash brush additionally after applying the mascara I would have heavily clumped lashes.
Maybe there is something wrong with mine? As nobody else seem to face this sort of problem?!?

Charlestongirl said...

Hi Ingrid,

I didn't have that problem with this one, but I'm pretty good with a mascara wand. Sometimes I have to wipe it along the side of the tube as I remove it.

If that doesn't work, I know it's a waste, but run a Kleenex around it lightly before applying.
