Lancôme Golden Hat Illuminating Smooth Powder Goldenescent Glow Palette by Kate Winslet for Holiday 2011

Lancôme is thrilled to announce its support of the Golden Hat Foundation, a non-profit created by beloved Ambassadress Kate Winslet to raise funds to better the lives of children living with autism. To support Kate Winslet’s inspiring and heartfelt philanthropic endeavor, Lancôme worked with her to create a stunning holiday collection that brings to life the spirit and message of the charity. Please watch the short film at the Lancôme site. Kate Winslet explains the charity, her Golden Hat book, and her excitement about the worthy charity.

The limited-edition Golden Hat Illuminating Smooth Powder Goldenescent Glow Palette ($42), created for the Holiday 2011 Color Collection by Kate Winslet, is stunning. The all-over powder gives a "blooming glow" to the face. The light sparkling pink shade provides a soft and delicate glow to the face, while the golden shade enhances the complexion with touches of gold. Kate Winslet's personal signature dresses the limited-edition black packaging in a glamorous gold script.

The sun made a brief and fairly useless attempt to shine yesterday. I was able to get a photo of the palette, but my swatch photos were dreadful. I'll describe the palette, rather than show you useless photos.

I think the palette is gorgeous. The box, shown above, carries the Golden Hat Foundation name and Kate Winslet's signature. The black palette does too, printed in gold. It's all very classy.

The colors sparkle lightly. The pink is a very light cool pink, and the gold is a light beige gold, shades fitting for Kate Winslet's porcelain skin. Blended, the two powder shades provide a golden, very light golden pink glow to the skin. They are very light shades, the reason I found it difficult to photograph them on my super-fair skin. I could see them when applied heavily, but they eluded the camera's lens.

You can find Kate Winslet's new collection for the holidays at Lancôme's Web site. There are also pretty, limited-edition L'Absolu Rouge lipsticks and Les Vernis nail colors in the collection. I have not seen the collection in stores yet, but that doesn't mean it hasn't arrived in the last few days.

What a fun design! For some reason, I thought of Charlie Chaplin when I saw the hat :)

Hi BlushingNoir!

I love the cause - and the powder.

Hi Kristie!

I think that was a perfectly logical association. :) A tip of the hat to Mr. Chaplin too.
