Lancôme Golden Hat L'Absolu Rouge by Kate Winslet for Holiday 2011 - Misty Rose

Lancôme's newest color collection supports the Golden Hat Foundation, a non-profit created by beloved Ambassadress Kate Winslet to raise funds to better the lives of children living with autism. To support Kate Winslet’s inspiring and heartfelt philanthropic endeavor, Lancôme worked with her to create a stunning holiday collection that brings to life the spirit and message of the charity. Please watch the short film at the Lancôme site. Kate Winslet explains the charity, her Golden Hat book, and her excitement about the worthy charity.

There are five limited-edition L'Absolu Rouge Advanced Replenishing & Reshaping Lipcolor Pro-Xylane SPF 12 ($29) shades in the Golden Hat Collection. They fall into brown-neutral, pink, and red-coral families. Kate Winslet wore the mythical shade Caprice for the collection's visual.
  • La Base, pearly translucent white
  • Rosette (#340), soft creamy brown
  • Misty Rose (#341), soft creamy pink
  • Caprice (#132), true red
  • Spice Pink (#342), soft creamy red
I selected Misty Rose, a beautiful medium-intensity pink. I'm tempted by Rosette, but I'm going to try to resist the urge to buy it.

Like the rest of Kate Winslet's Golden Hat Collection, the box and the tube have a golden hat and Kate Winslet's signature. It's a nice touch.

Misty Rose is a perfect name for the pretty rose-pink lip color. I took my photos in full sun, trying to get a few different angles against the sun. When the sun shines directly on the swatch, Misty Rose looks very shiny. I'd describe the finish as gleaming, perhaps subtly shimmering, but it's not sparkly or metallic.

The rich, satiny color and deeply moisturizing lipstick is infused with moisture-boosting Pro-Xylane. When you wear L'Absolu Rouge, your lips will stay moist, soft, and comfortable for hours. Antioxidant-rich vitamin E and SPF 12 help keep the lips safe from environmental aggressors, including the sun, so they’ll look and feel healthy. The stay-true color won’t feather, flake, or fade, so "your pout will always look picture-perfect."

Misty Rose is the kind of shade pink lovers will adore. It's intense, but not completely opaque. I like to call shades like Misty Rose lively. It dances on the face, drawing in the eye and complementing the rest of your makeup. It's easy to wear and easy on the eye. I'd bet it looks exquisite on Kate Winslet.

You can find Kate Winslet's new collection for the holidays at Lancôme's Web site. In addition to the pretty, limited-edition L'Absolu Rouge lipsticks, there are Les Vernis nail colors and the fabulous Golden Hat Illuminating Smooth Powder Goldenescent Glow Palette - all limited editions - in the collection. The collection has arrived at Lancôme counters. This is your chance to shop for a good cause.

Kate Winslet is an amazing actress and I have beeen a fan of her acting since she started filming in English classics. She is a very beautiful person and I admire her charity effort for autistic children (she says she is so lucky with her two healthy ones) and I'll definitely buy this lipstick in the shade you have chosen, Charlestongirl (the others are either too red or too brown): this Misty Rose is just perfect:-)

Hi Clarisse,

Misty Rose is certainly the most wearable for me. I know we often like the same shades. I wanted to buy into this collection because of the charity connection.

I also think Kate Winslet is an amazing actress. Such talent and beauty!

Mercedes, it does look wet. That's a great way to describe it!
